  • Monkey Love

    • Lyrics

Out in the jungle or down on the streets,
So many creatures for you to meet.
Using their instincts to get through the night,
Time and time again until they get it just right.

You’ve got gorrillas that swing from the bars,
Big hairy apes that drive fancy cars,
Women all shiny with diamonds and pearls,
Men with men, men with women, women with girls.

      Chorus:
Looking for wild, wild, wild monkey love,
Down in the jungle, the mighty, mighty jungle.
Looking for wild, wild, wild monkey love,
      Down in the jungle.

                                                                  (Chorus)

Corporate zebra's in black and white stripes.
How do they do it? They look so uptight.
Lions and cougars and elephants too.
Hanging all together at the neighborhood zoo.

                                                                  (Chorus)

Out in the jungle or down in the street,
So many creatures for you to meet.
You can go for a lot, or you can go for a little,
But beware of the rhino with his horn in the middle.

                                                                  (Chorus)

  • Moving On

    • Lyrics

We've been together for a long, long time.
What I’m trying to do is make up my mind.
I should be leaving, I really ought to go.
There's no more love the way we used to know.

      Chorus:
I know lately, the feeling ain't so strong.
I been thinking of moving on.

Once there was something. Now it's all too much the same.
I ain't looking for someone to blame.
I've got this feeling that says I've got to go.
There's no more love the way we used to know.

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

  • Looking Over My Shoulder

    • Lyrics

      I used to run around
And take whatever I could find.
But now these days are changing,
      The change I call mine.

      Chorus:
      I’m looking over my shoulder,
      A little wiser and older.
I'm looking right over my shoulder,
      But I ain't looking behind.

      I’d never laugh and sing,
I’d take what misery would bring.
      Nowadays it don't bother me.
I don't pay it no mind.

      People would stop and stare,
      Hell, I don't really care.
      I won't let them put a dull
      upon my shine.

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

  • Can You Feel the Night

    • Lyrics

We shared our secrets, and then we let them go.
No more lies. How did she know
That I was a fool for love, making one last stand.
What was I thinking of? What was the plan?

But I’ve never felt this way before,
And I never found love’s open door.
But then she stole my heart, and then she set me free.
And now I turn to her and she says to me:

      Chorus:
Can you still feel the night.
      Now that it's over,
      My feelings haven't changed.
My love for you remains. /:/2

                                                                  (Chorus)

      Can you feel it?
      Feel the love all over.

  • She Drives Me Wild

    • Lyrics

She comes alive in the evening, when the harvest moon is full.
The spell she cast will hypnotize, then a rush comes over you.
Wielding a little black magic, she's a sorceress divine.
She's got a black cat bone, and it's found a new home.
      Then she arches her spine.

She's a temple for the forces of darkness.
She's got the fire in her eyes.
      She drives me wild!

You can hear the hauntings of the souls that came before,
Saying, "you better beware you gotta get outa here before she locks the door.
Feels like your floating in a hole of good/bad dream.
By then you're out of your head, but you're not really dead.
      Nothing ain't what it seems.

      Chorus:
She's the temple for the forces of darkness.
She's got the fire in here eyes.
She drives me wild! /:/ 4

                                                                  (Chorus)

Her lips approach you, she speaks, but you cannot hear.
The little voice in your head, over and over again, says run, get out of here.
The wind howls through the windows, sparks fly for her hands.
Now your beggin' and pleading on your knees screaming,
      "Baby I'm just a man!"

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/2

  • Jungle Bunny Honey

    • Lyrics

      Chorus:
Won't you be my jungle bunny honey.
Won't you he my jungle bunny honey.
We can get down in the bushes.
We can shake our little touches.
Won't you be my jungle bunny honey.

I can be your Tarzan you can be my Jane.
I will be your swinging ape man.
So, grab a hold of my vine
      For a swinging good time.
      Please, please be my friend.

                                                                  (Chorus)

We can stomp our feet to the jungle beat.
      Roam around the African plains.
      I'll introduce you to my monkey;
Not too big, but kinda funky.
By the way, Cheetah's his name.

                                                                  (Chorus)

When the day comes to pass,
      We’ll wear our masks.
We can dance, we can drink, we can feast.
It is the only way to end the day,
      And tame our primitive beast.

    • Lyrics

      Chorus:
      "O", "A", "O", Way "O";
      Let's have some fun.
      "O", "A", "O", Way "O";
      Looking to have some fun.

      Rico now lives in Miami.
Sailed from Cuba with his family.
He didn't care how he got there.
He was looking to have some fun.

                                                                  (Chorus)

Maria lives in New York City.
Lots of cash and looks real pretty.
      Everyday she buys her way.
Just looking to have some fun.

  • Can You Feel It

    • Lyrics

      Through all of my years,
      Of blood sweat and tears,
      You always came along
To help me pass the time,
      Ease my mind.
      You’re the song.

You could rock me to sleep,
Catch me dance down the street,
      With music in the air.
      Or driving in my car,
      To a bitchin’ lead guitar,
      Without a care.

      Chorus:
      Can you feel it?
      Can you feel it?
It’s the rhythm of your soul.
Just add some rock and roll.
      Can you feel it?

      After dinner and a date,
      Staying up late,
      You’d really set the mood,
      With those romantic violins,
      Tossing and tumbling,
      In the nude.

      Or flying in a plane,
      Or riding on a train,
      Or sailing out to sea,
      Be it wrong or right,
I’d sing with all my might,
      In harmony.

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

      Through all of my years,
      Of blood sweat and tears,
      You always came along
To help me pass the time,
      Ease my mind.
There ain’t nothing like a rhythm, rhymin’ song.

                                                                  (Chorus)

Na na, na na na, na na, na na na,la la la la /:/

  • Take Your Time

    • Lyrics

      Hey girl!
Take a look at your world.
      Have you lost your place
      In space and time?

Just another day in the rat race.
In the morning in the mirror,
      You’ve got lines
      On your face.

You’re running around all of the time,
And your clock keeps ticking away.
      Better slow down
      Or you're gonna pay.

      Chorus:
      Take Your Time.
      Feel your heart beat.
      Take Your Time.
      C'mon breathe deep.
      Take Your Time.
      Slow you'll get there.
      Take Your Time.
      The world ain't going nowhere.

      It's the same routine,
      And it's time after time.
You keep working for the dollar,
      But only see the dime.

You've lost your sense of soul,
      Your purpose and your place.
      Your an A-1 certifiable
      Head case.

                                                                  (Chorus)

No, no they won't get me. I'm living my life free. /:/

You keep running and running and running.
      Will you ever slow down?
You keep running and running and running,
      Always running around.
You keep running and running and running,
      Face always wearing a frown.
You'll keep running and running and running
      Until you hit the ground.

                                                                  (Chorus)

  • Two-Way Street

    • Lyrics

You know the road is a two-way street.
It’s amazing all the people that you meet.
And the road can be long,
Especially, when you feel you don't belong.

      Chorus:
So, if you go out walking,
      Leave your troubles behind,
      And if you start talking
      Just keep an open mind.

                                                                  (Chorus)

You know love is a two-way street.
When you fall in love it sweeps you off your feet.
You know love is like a song,
When you sing it out with feeling woebegone.

                                                                  (Chorus)

You know love is a two-way road.
With a friend together you can share the load.

      Can you imagine that.
You just might make a friend.
      Can you imagine that.
      The friendship never ends.
      Can you imagine that.
The world could be as one.
      Can you imagine that.
      There are smiles on everyone.

The road is a two-way street.
Amazing all the people that you meet.
      Love is a two-way road,
With a friend together you can share the load.

  • 91101

    • Lyrics

91101 came from out of the blue.
When the building shook I thought of you.
Although, we must part, I take with me my soul.
And I just wanted you to know.

Went to work like any other day.
Who’d of thought it would turn out this way.
But a peaceful voice said, “It’s time to go!”
And I just wanted you to know.

No, no, no, no, I just wanted you to know.

To know that I love you. I’m OK and doing alright.
And I will visit you in your dreams at night.
Know that I’m above you in a bright, heavenly glow.
And I just wanted you to know.

I just wanted you to know.

‘Monkey Love’ is predominantly upbeat music, with a jungle metaphor interwoven throughout for an added sense of humor. Drawing from observation and real life experiences, the songs reflect life; sometimes serious, and sometimes humorous.

Tom enjoys creating many genre’s of music… Music for every mood. The drums and the electric guitar are the driving force for most of the songs on this album. Although, the last song is a ballad dedicated to the 91101 event which brought sadness to the lives of many.

Many thanks to the following folks who participated in the production of ‘Monkey Love’: Bill Miele on Base, Todd Garrepy on sax, Cathy Monroe on cello, Siobhan Coffin, and Nanci and Bob Ryan for backing vocals.
