  • I really Miss You

    • Lyrics

      Know that I want you.
      Know that I care.
      Know when you call me
      I will be there.

      Know that I need you.
      Know it's alright.
Know that I dream of you
      When I sleep at night.

      Know it ain't easy.
      But know it's for you.
      Darling make no mistake,
      It's well worth the wait
      Tomorrow when I'm with you.

      Chorus
      I really miss you,
And I long to kiss you.
      I really miss you.
      Oh, I really do!

      Know that I love you.
      Yeah I feel it too.
Know when it's dark, we'll always follow our hearts.
      Together we'll make it through.

      Chorus:
      I really miss you.
And I long to kiss you.
      I really miss you.
      Oh, I really do!

      See You Tomorrow.

  • Knots & Tales

    • Lyrics

      Take a photograph,
      But don't crop the view,
      The lesson of life,
      As it applies to you.

      The captured image
      May soon be for sale.
      Another sacrifice to knots & tales;
      Oh, knots & tales. /:/

      When your looking
      Out through the lens,
      It won't develop the same
      Result in the end.

      The point of view
      Is all that prevails.
      Another sacrifice to knots & tales;
      Oh, knots & tales. /:/

      Bridge:
      Expose me a knot,
And I'll tell you a tale.
      Always together,
      Taking wind from your sails
      *The nearer the cause is
      To your heart,
      The tighter the knot;
      Oh, knots & tales. /:/

      Take the format
      Of black & white,
      Many use color
      To justify the light.

      Whatever medium,
      It all seems so pale,
      Whenever listening to those knots & tales;
      Oh, knots & tales. /:/

  • Yesterday's Dream

    • Lyrics

      I've seen the sunshine.
      I've felt the rain.
      Lived beyond my means
To find I've lost the gain.

      I've climbed the mountains.
      I've laid in fields.
      Traveled through the forest
      Of many a shady deal.

      Chorus
Through it all, my spirit guided me.
Through it all, I carried yesterday's dream.

      I've read the poets,
      Preached philosophy,
Face to face with a man who just couldn't understand
      That even blind men see.

      Sailed the oceans
      Through many a storm
On a tropical breeze from the Florida keys
      Singing sailor songs.

                                                                  (Chorus)

      Bridge:
Yesterdays dream, you sometimes can’t show it.
Yesterdays dream you shouldn’t out grow it.
      Yesterday's dream, don't let go.

      I've seen the sunshine.
      I've felt the rain.
      Lived beyond my means
To find I've lost the gain.

      I've climbed the mountains.
      I've laid in fields.
      The one thing I've learned
From all the times I've been burned
      Is you've got to believe.

  • Lately

    • Lyrics

I've been in love so many times before.
Don't know why I keep returning for more.

To clarify the problem that keeps haunting me:
I always hear a band start playing a song of gold
      Behind a woman's sweet harmony.

      Chorus:
      You know lately,
      She ain't been coming around
      You know lately,
      There ain't no middle ground

Like a cold wind on a sunny day,
It'll raise your skin when the sky turns gray.

Looking for a friend but (I) haven't got a clue,
Why it always depends on the clothes I wear,
The color and the style of my shoes.

      She was screaming at me,
Na na, na na na, na na, na na na,
Na na, na na na, na, na na na na, /:/
      Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo.

                                                                  (Chorus)

I've been in love so many times before.
Don't know why I keep returning for more.

To clarify the problem that keeps haunting me:
I always hear a band start playing a song of gold
      Behind a woman's sweet harmony.

                                                                  (Chorus)

      She was screaming at me,
Na na, na na na, na na, na na na,
Na na, na na na, na, na na na na, /:/
      Boo hoo hoo hoo hoo.

  • Living in the Tropics in My Mind

    • Lyrics

I'm living in the tropics in my mind.
I either never have the money or the time.
I'm finding I'm at work, with some overbearing jerk.
So I'm living in the tropics in my mind.

      Give me Jamacia, Bermuda, Martinique.
Give me a palm tree, a sunny day, a sandy beach.
Give me a boat with billowed sails,
A bottle of rum, a tankard of ale.
Chart a course, the seven seas, into the sun.

Give me a Virgin Isle, and I'll treasure hunt gold,
And re-live those pirate tales from days of old.
Just give me a boat with billowed sails,
A bottle of rum, a tankard of ale.
Chart a course, the seven seas, into the sun.

Give me Tahiti, the Bahamas & Hawaii too.
Give me a bronze skinned island woman, with nothing to do.
Give me that boat with billowed sails,
A bottle of rum, a tankard of ale.
Chart a course, the seven seas, into the sun.

And it's a yo ho ho and a way we go,
Havin’ some fun, sailing into the sun.

  • Sue for Love

    • Lyrics

I don't know the lawyer, I only know the girl.
Once filled with laughter, until she got
      Sucked into a world,
Devoid of feeling, now only habeas corpus dealings,
Woah oh oh, oh oh, no!

No little love letters, or voice mail return,
Rat race, my place, your place, a tight face,
      The fire is adjourned.
Devoid of feeling, now only habeas corpus dealings,
Woah oh oh, oh oh, no!

      Chorus:
Will I have to sue for love, just to get it?
It seems the only way she'll let it out. Oh, let it out!
And if I sue for love, we'll both regret it,
Oh, please, let it out! Let it out!

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/3

  • James Dean

    • Lyrics

He passed away on a sunny day, in a car.
      Shifting transmission,
He made the transition to superstar.

      Chorus:
      Everybody knows who I mean:
      Sports car, coffin, killer machine
      Oh, oh, oh, James Dean!

Driving a road, south, "East of Eden", a.k.a. L. A.,
      Never really knowing
That it would be his judgment day.

                                                                  (Chorus)

The film was "Giant". The actor defiant.
      Who would have guessed
      He'd break down the Rock,
But not steal the warm heart of Elizabeth.

                                                                  (Chorus)

He passed away on a sunny day, in a car.
What do you say, when they take away
      A "Rebel Without a Cause"?

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

  • It's My Life

    • Lyrics

When I think about Life, I think about the world.
When I think about Love, I’m thinking about a girl.
When I think about the Stars, I think of looking in her eyes.
When I think about the Heavens, I’m seeing clear blue skies.

      Chorus:
It's my life, and it has to be! It's my life, unconditionally.
It's my life, and it's what I see. In the land of the free.

When I think about baseball, I think of home run.
When I think about America, I think of long lost sons.
When I think about pizza, I think about beer.
When I think about the Middle East, I think I'm glad I'm here.

                                                                  (Chorus)

When I think about the homeless, I think about the pain.
When I think about politicians, I think about the shame.
When I think babies, I’m thinking dirty diapers.
When I think about my mother, I think it's another crisis!

                                                                  (Chorus)

When I think of motorcycles, I’m thinking of a Harley.
When I think of Helter Skelter, I think about Charlie.
When I think about the Beatles, I think about the Stones.
When I think about music, I think of doing my own.

                                                                  (Chorus)

When I think about sex, I think it's been awhile.

  • Time to Go

    • Lyrics

      Grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change,
And thank you for saving me
      From the pouring rain.

I know just how it feels
To be left out in the cold.
The seasons they change so quickly,
      So I'm told.

      Chorus:
      And it's time to go.
      I don't know why.
      Everything I worked for
      Just isn't there anymore.

      Yesterday the crops were planted.
      They grew oh so well.
But I just sit here and watch them,
      Without a soul to tell.

I've seen all of my children grow.
Some are married some are free.
      Wishing that I wasn't old.
Let it be. Oh, let it be.

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

      Tomorrow is my birthday.
      My younger years were fun.
They used to say that when your old,
      Your life has just begun.

Well here I am at ninety three,
      Just talking to myself.
And all of those very happy years
      Sit now upon a shelf.

                                                                  (Chorus)

  • He Could Ride

    • Lyrics

      He rode a Harley,
And he could light a cigarette,
      While cruising the highway.
The kind of man you couldn't forget.
He could ride. He could ride .

      He rode a Harley.
One night into town he came.
      Looking for action.
He'd had enough of too much of the same.
He could ride. He could ride.

      Women approached him.
Looking to ride. Willing to pay.
      They’d dream of power,
While staring down between his legs.
He could ride. He could ride

      Chorus:
      Ride ride ride,
Nothing compares to how it feels.
      Ride ride ride,
Can't get the thrill from behind the wheel.
He could ride. He could ride.

      Sheriff got angry,
For waking up his sleepy town.
      He was determined,
To lock him up or to shoot him down.

      "Hey Loretta, Loretta!"
"Hey Loretta, get me my gun!"
      "Hey Loretta, Loretta!"
He looked around and she was gone.

“Meanwhile, in another part of town:”

      The moon was reflecting,
      Off his shiny chrome.
      From out of the moonlight,
She appeared, they were all alone.

      The night was quiet.
The smell of pine was in the air.
      Loretta stood smiling,
So he mounted up and thrust it into gear.
He could ride. He could ride.

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

      He rode a Harley,
And he could light a cigarette.
      While cruising the highway,
The kind of man you couldn't forget.
He could ride. He could ride. /:/3

  • A Day in the Life of a Lonely Martyr

    • Lyrics

A day in the life of a lonely martyr.
      Everyday it gets much harder
      To carry the cross.
You know the man is divorced.

When he breaks down and cries his tears,
For twenty some odd happy years.
      He feels wasted away,
      Someone's got to pay

      Chorus:
      Every day people would say,
      "Hey Johnny, get a life!"
When things went wrong it didn't take long
      To fault his x-wife.

Driving to work he gets stuck in traffic.
Breaking out in a historical laughter,
      He leans on the horn.
You know the man can't get going (move on).

Arriving at work he's taken aside,
Filled with confidence, filled with pride.
They say, "I think that you know,"
"We have to let you go."

                                                                  (Chorus) /:/

With nothing to live for and nothing to show,
No one to hold him and no where to go,
      Pretending he is a boy,
The man buys himself a toy.

Goes to the house with the 'X' on the door.
Looking for why's and what for's.
      He shoots his wife,
And then he takes his own life

                                                                  (Chorus)

A day in the life of a lonely martyr.
      Everyday it gets much harder.

The title, ’Knots & Tales’, is the metaphor reflected in my second album. People have stories to tell usually based around a challenging event… an emotional ‘knot’. The title cut is the world as seen through the eyes of a photographer composing a picture through the lens. Captured is a scene which sparks a message (or tale) left to interpretation (a mental knot).

Thank you to the following folks who participated in the production of ‘Knots & Tales’: Sharon DiPretoro for her beautiful voice in the duet ‘I Really Miss You’, and Celia Gomes for backup vocals.
